I joined the writing staff of Midnight Lair!
There isn’t much I’m able to say right now, as it’s still early in production and I had to swear a blood oath to keep the details of what’s happening secret. What I can tell you is that it’s a horror host show featuring the banter and blunder of a neurotic necromancer, his undead patchwork handyman, a playful vampire, and a sardonic computer skeleton. Think Elvira’s Movie Macabre meets Mystery Science Theater 3000. It’s a silly and scary good time. And I’m pretty excited about the movies we’re going to be building episodes around, too! I’m excited about everything, more accurately, but for now you need to take a cue from The Supremes and just have to wait. Sorry!
Episode 0 is online right now, though, so you can get an idea of its look and feel. I didn’t work on this video, however – my stuff won’t debut until later in the series. You should still watch it anyway; it’s well worth your time.
Super grateful to Dan, Caryn, Gill, Christian, and the rest of the cast and crew for opening up an opportunity to fulfill another lifelong dream. Finally all that sneaking downstairs to watch campy late-night horror and science-fiction cheese with the sound turned low so as not to wake my parents paid off.
Aw, who am I kidding? Sometimes Dad heard the noise and joined me! Unless it was a school night. Then he hissed at me to go back to bed.
